Cullen Update

Poor baby was a bit worse today. His rapid and laboured breathing is really freaking me out. I think we need our ped on speed dial. But they continue reassuring us that what we are seeing is typical and could go on for quite awhile longer. I got him to take a whopping 5 oz today along with his baby food. And every bite of his food was a challenge. He kept gagging it all up and crying because he was hungry and getting frustrated :-( I had to force the Motrin down which he normally guzzles.

So I am expecting tonight to be a long one. I brought the pack-n-play into our room and have the humidifier cranked. They have suggested that we take turns sleeping so one of us could keep an eye out for any respitory distress. Yikes.

Prayers would be much appreciated.

Jodie, if you are up in the middle of the night like you usually are, track me down on im. I may be up just watching my babe breathe.

is he retracting? using his stomach muscles to breathe? Is he grunting? If so... you need to get him to ER or Urgent Care NOW! Sorry... the respiratory therapist just came out for a second. Keep an eye on the color of his gums. AA babies are hard to judge for color change. That is the best place to look. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

UGH!!!!!!! Sue, I know your pain. This virus was the hardest thing to weather...I sat watching him breath and honestly during the worst nights, I slept with him on my chest in the recliner so he was upright and I could feel and hear him breath. If you can call out for tomorrow and just stay home with him, your mind will be there anyways!

Good luck and prayers are at ya!

I hope your little man feels better soon. I missed seeing you all tonight. I am so sorry he is sick. I have been there before. So, call me if you need anything. Don't hesitate to call your doctor at all. That is what they are for! I am thinking of you. I know how worried you are. I was in the same position two years ago. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'm sorry Cullen is feeling so sick. It's got to be so hard not being able to make him feel better. I hope he will be feeling better soon and ready for Santa's visit in a couple of days.
