Thanks Mom!

So I've had a bit of a rough weekend/week. Let's just say that one of my dogs is likley moving out of our home. No she is not sick, but her needs/behaviors have surpassed what we can provide and tolerate. It was such a difficult decision to make. She has been with us for almost seven years. Our dogs were our lives before Alex came along. It is just so very sad. At the same time, I am looking forward to this change providing both of the dogs with a better quality of life.

We are now working with the Golden Retriever Rescue to find a home that would be more suitable for Chloe. Two nights ago I had the difficult task of compiling photos of her to send. It was terribly hard. So many pictures of the wonderful years we spent together.

So my mom sent me this beautiful bouquet to help cheer me up. Jodie, Teri, Lisa and Sue...you guys have been great too. Thanks so much! It does help.

What a gret Mom you have! I know how hard this is. We had to give up our kitty furbabies when we adopted Emmalee. Our girl was the nicest cat, just not to kids. They were my babies before we adopted and got me through a lot of sad times. In the end, though, they were much happier and it was better for all of us!

I know from experience that this is not easy! Bailey had been with me even before i knew Mike; he was my comfort and shoulder to cry on. But I knew he deserved a better life. He went to a family here in town and I see him periodically, he looks good and enjoyed life on Keuka lake this summer. Hugs to you and your family!

Oh, sue, this breaks my heart. I'm tempted to ask... I can only imagine how difficult it is for you. I am glad your mom is so supportive. :) And, it so nice to know that you are looking into the rescue to find the best family out there. I can totally relate to having dogs there during all the ups and downs to begin your family.

Sue I can totally relate... we had to put one of our goldens down while we were working on our homestudy. He was epileptic and despite visits to specialists and lots of meds we just couldn't get it under control and we knew we couldn't manage it with another dog and a newborn. It was hard but the right decision for everyone.

Goldens are great dogs and I bet you guys find an awesome, loving home for Chloe! Hang in there.
